Asphalt as Art Contest!
In the fall of 2008, The Bronx Museum of Arts opened a show titled, "Street Art, Street Life..." featuring multiple media artistic renditions of usual and some unusual activity taking place on asphalt streets. Viewing numerous photographs of street activity, taken by many of the world's finest photographers, one is struck by the contemplative depth of the scenes on display. With the street as the studio, the blackness of the asphalt background is as beautiful as a cloud dotted deep blue sky. The work of internationally acclaimed photographer Xaviera Simmons, captures the black beauty of asphalt in the neighborhood.
The black beauty of asphalt is well known to Manassas based pavers, Tim Reed and Jimmy Tibbs who own and operate Tibbs Paving, Inc, and an asphalt rejuvenation company, AR Tech.
Tibbs Paving launched this photo captioning contest to provide the public an opportunity to stretch their imaginations by creatively captioning photos of asphalt - beautifully installed or rejuvenated.

CONTEST RULES:
Using the Art Contest Entry Form, select a photo and submit one caption for that photo. The contest runs each month. All entries received during the month will be judged during the first week of the following month. The winner will be notified by e-mail and posted on the contest page on the 10th of the following month. Winners will be selected from all entries received during that month. A grand prize winner will be selected from all entries received during the year. Photos will be changed periodically. Employees and family members of Tibbs Paving/AR Tech are not eligible to win.
PRIZES:
Monthly winners will receive a voucher worth $300 applicable to any work contracted to be performed by Tibbs Paving/AR Tech. Voucher must be used within 12 months of issue date.
