Welcome to Tibbs Paving

Jimmy & Tim are proud to say 2020 marks the 25th anniversary for Tibbs Paving and our 38th year working together.

If you have followed our history, we met in 1982 working for a local Virginia paving outfit. A mutual respect for the others work ethic and commitment to best practices brought us together. First as co-workers and now as friends and business partners. We remain like minded and hands on after 38 years in the industry. That kind of staying power deserves a look...

We thank all of our returning clients, many of whom have been with us for 25 years. We understand loyalty must be earned daily. Satisfied customers are the only true measure of a contractors ability.

For our potential new clients, we look forward to the opportunity to exceed your expectations.

CLIENT'S NEEDS TO KNOW Frequently Asked Questions

What is asphalt?

Asphalt pavement is normally 95% aggregate and 5% asphalt cement as the binder. Aggregate is a mixture of stone, sand and gravel. The asphalt binder is an oil based product refined and used to bind the aggregates together.

What are the benefits to choosing asphalt?
  • It costs less to construct and maintain asphalt than other similarly durable pavements.
  • Asphalt projects can be completed in a shorter time frame than alternative pavements.
  • Asphalt pavements are smoother and generate less noise than alternative pavements.
  • Asphalt is recyclable. Over eighty percent of all asphalt removed for replacement is recycled into new asphalt.
Are tire marks or scuffing a concern on a newly paved surface?

No, the appearance of surface scuffs is fairly typical, and in no way affects the long term performance of the pavement. Once the asphalt has had the time to totally acclimate to its new environment the surface markings should be gone.
